Description
Are We the Place for You?
Community Financial Credit Union ($1.6B in Assets, Plymouth, MI) is seeking a forward-thinking, strategic financial executive to join our team as chief financial officer (cfo). As a key member of the executive leadership team, the cfo will help shape the financial future of our organization – strengthening our financial performance, safeguarding long-term sustainability, and ensuring our ability to ignite Michiganders’ impossible dreams. We proudly serve more than 83,000 members with extraordinary experiences rooted in purpose and possibility.
At Community Financial Credit Union (CFCU):
We are Vibrant: We feel the power that comes from focusing on what excites you.
We are Imaginative: All of the solutions are within us if we search beyond the rules.
We are Intuitive: The greatest injustice to humanity is one’s failure to act on what they deem to be right.
We Create Belonging: We honor authenticity and believe our differences make us collectively stronger.
We are Curious: We listen deeply, learn constantly, and embrace continuous improvement.
We Hustle + Grind: We move with intention to accomplish our impossible dreams.
We Care Relentlessly: We promote the financial well-being of every Michigander with purpose and heart.
We celebrate Huzzah: Because every meaningful effort deserves a high five and a job well done.
CFCU is a “Best Place to Work in Michigan,” demonstrated through a culture of care for our nearly 350 team members. We offer an equitable and generous benefits package (robust PTO, paid parental and caregiver leave, a 10% 401(k) match), a flexible work environment with hybrid work options, and a deep commitment to continuous employee development.
Is This the Career for You?
If you love numbers and the story they tell, this might be your dream job. As cfo, you won’t just steward CFCU’s financials, you will align our strategy, mission, and members on the same page (and the same balance sheet).
Reporting directly to the president/ceo, the cfo guides financial strategy that keeps us strong, sustainable, and boldly moving toward our impossible dreams. We run the numbers with purpose, using data-driven forecasting, modeling, and pricing to strengthen long-term sustainability while staying curious about why we do things the CFCU way, connecting financial decisions back to our cooperative roots and keeping our members at the center of every strategic choice.
You’ll oversee the full suite of financial functions (finance, accounting, ALM, budgeting, treasury, investments, financial risk management) as well as risk, compliance, facilities, and collections. (We know, that’s a lot of hats. We promise they all look great on you!)
Collaboration is key as you help leaders across the organization understand how financial discipline and innovation go hand-in-hand, keeping us strong, nimble, and ready for whatever tomorrow brings.
You’ll thrive here if you love blending big-picture strategy with financial rigor and if you’re as passionate about advancing the cooperative movement as you are about a beautifully balanced spreadsheet.
