- Fiscal Operations Manager
Description
This highly responsible management and administrative position is responsible for assisting the Finance and Accounting Director and the Chief Financial Officer in managing, planning, coordinating directing and administrating the function of the Finance Department. Duties include but are not limited to leading and overseeing the accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipts (including off duty and traffic), p-cards, grant financial reporting, and detention accounting functions. The Manager will provide input to accounting\budget policy including development and revision activities and is expected to explain and interpret such policies to assigned staff as well as employees throughout the agency. The Manager shall be knowledgeable of the Sheriff’s Office entire accounting function including governmental fund groups and financial computer systems. The Manager will exercise considerable initiative and independent judgement in resolving day to day problems even where clear-cut guidance is not available. Work is performed under the direction of the Finance and Accounting Director and indirectly to the CFO. Requirements
Eligibility Criteria:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; AND a minimum of five (5) year’s related experience including a minimum of two (2) years of accounting supervisory experience OR
- Equivalent combination of education and/or experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job as those listed above; AND
- Preferred Accounting experience within a government environment; AND
- Preferred proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Necessary Special Requirements:
- Duties are performed in office environment.
- Duties often performed sedentary at desk for long periods of time with limited walking.
- Must be able to lift, push, carry or pull a minimum of 25 lbs. independently.
- Work is generally performed during normal business hours although the incumbent may be required to work any schedule that fulfills the needs of the position.
- Extensive use of desktop computers is required.
- Position may require travel to attend meetings and functions related to performance and required knowledge of essential duties.
