Alaska Permanent Capital Management (APCM) is a registered investment advisor (RIA) providing discretionary investment management services for institutional and individual clients. The firm manages over $5 billion in assets and is located in Anchorage, Alaska.
APCM is seeking a detail-oriented individual to join its investment team. This individual will play a strategic role in managing total return fixed income portfolios and contributing to the continued success of the firm through disciplined portfolio management, investment insight, and client engagement.
Position Summary
Working with an investment team, the Portfolio Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management of total return fixed income portfolios across multiple strategies and mandates. The position’s primary role will include portfolio construction, risk management, and trade execution.
Secondary duties include participating as an active member of the investment team with the development and implementation of investment strategies, as well as business development initiatives.
Portfolio Management Responsibilities
- Manage total return fixed income portfolios across multiple mandates and strategies
- Manage portfolio characteristics, including risk and attribution, to ensure alignment with firm strategies and client guidelines
- Execute trades of various fixed-income securities across a range of trading platforms
- Serve as a sector specialist as assigned, contributing firm-wide views and recommendations
- Present portfolio performance, positioning, and strategy to clients and prospective clients
- Conduct analysis and strategic investment research for strategy meetings
- Work with the investment team to implement and monitor the firm’s investment strategies
- Partner with Client Relations to participate in client meetings and reviews
- Evaluate and improve investment workflows, processes, and operational efficiency
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, or related discipline
- Minimum of 7 years of investment related experience
- Professional qualifications such as FRM, CFA, CAIA are preferred
- Understanding of fixed-income asset classes and securities
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Bloomberg
- Excellent analytical abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including client-facing experience
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently while collaborating effectively within a team
