Description
Your roleWe are looking for an analyst to lead coverage for UK Small & Mid-Cap stocks, based in London. Candidates ideally have 5-10+ years' experience in research related areas.
Are you gifted at assessing company strategies? Do you love giving advice, as well as researching? We're looking for someone who can:
• Take ownership of the UK mid-cap franchise: screening for mid-cap opportunities, working closely with the wider SMID team and relevant sector teams and leveraging UBS's capabilities to drive superior insights.
• Undertake company and industry-specific analyses in several sectors including a broad range of small and midcap sectors.
• Build & maintain financial models to generate projections for company financials.
• Conduct equity valuation analysis and translating analyses into actionable investment opinions.
• Communicate and deliver your thought leadership to our institutional clients as well as relevant internal stakeholders.

UBS Global Research is a top ranked research house. The firm's proprietary UBS Evidence Lab analyses add significant value to our investment recommendation process. You will be working in London with opportunities to cover small and midcap companies. The team is highly ranked with a strong franchise globally.
Your expertise
• Experience in financial modelling and financial statement analysis.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
• Solid know-how of Microsoft Excel / Office products.
• Ability to build relationships with colleagues, company management teams and clients.
• Experience in covering UK mid-cap stocks (even within a sector team) is desirable but not mandatory.
• We welcome applicants from a range of backgrounds including equity research, consulting, investment banking and private equity.
• ACA / CFA qualifications are desirable.
• Comfortable building/working with large data sets and have excellent attention to detail.
